Everything from the gold Shisa dogs outside to the decor inside, to the aquarium. It reminds them of home in Okinawa, Japan. I took some photos and sent them to our kids who are out of state currently, and they’re excited. When I eat too much I tend to get very sick, and this is a buffet…so I’m sure it’s common for people to feel very tired afterwards. Funny right? This was the first time we have eaten American Asian food since we moved back here with our children. My husband and I have been living in Japan for over 5 years, and have missed American Asian food. It pains me to say again in all seriousness the Japan food from the mall at this point is much more pleasant. I regret to say this will probably be my last visit to this place. The only explanation from this perspective would be lack of business and an attempt to recover revenue. Prices have increased at this place 2xs in the past year. It will take a serious revamp of this location if it is to succeed. This place may be on the verge of closing. If this message to the managers/owners is not taken seriously. Portion size has decreased substantially and the flavor is not the same. In previous settings of this restaurant this would have been acceptable but no longer. 2 drinks 2 adult dishes and 1 kids dish was still $88. I hate to say it but the food from the Northwoods mall was larger portioned and better taste for half the price. The taste of the food was not what we used to get from this place. We did get a high chair for our 10 month old. The tables were very sticky, the floor was sticky and my shoes talked to me. She was on point, always smiling, made the pleasant conversation you would expect. We have nothing at all bad to say towards the server. Restaurant capacity on the non hibachi side was maybe 15%. Refills were not as punctual as you might expect though. We had no wait to be seated and minimal wait for the food. The menu prices have drastically increased since our last visit 8 months ago. Our server Ms Ginger was very kind and pleasant.

We decided to go to the non hibachi side today. So we were greeted upon entering the restaurant. Myles and Jun Yakitori is titled with the "Best Ramen in South Carolina", and after our visit, I 150% believe it is well deserved. What came out was a stacked tower of sweet deliciousness - a thick piece of toasted bread topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, honey, and red bean ice cream. We hesitated to make the order, being so full, so Kaylana suggested a half portion, to which we yielded. Our noodles sufficiently stuffed us, but a dessert menu item called Honey Toast had piqued our interest. Soon after we finished wolfing down the Salmon Rice Balls, our noodle soups were brought to our table and boy did our eyes go wide! One taste each of our broths, and we were nodding approval and praising ourselves on a winning choice of dinner! We told Kaylana when she checked on us that our bowls were exemplary, to which she seemed to excitedly empathize with our own satisfaction. The Salmon Rice Balls set the bar high! Perfectly fried tempura encasing a sticky-rice core with bits of delicious salmon, sitting in a bath of spicy sweet-n-sour-like sauce. We looked over our options and placed an order for the Salmon Rice Balls for our appetizer, the Shoyu Ramen, and the Nabeyaki Udon. Then Kaylana welcomed us with what can only be described as the most positive, upbeat, and enthusiastic attitude ever seen from waitstaff, one you can't help but smile for! She gave us a concise overview of the menu as well as alerted us to what the restaurant was out of. Suddenly our run for noodles had turned into a full-on date night! The hostess who greeted us asked if we had a reservation, which we did not expect to need, but they happened to have a table open. When we walked into the building though, we instantly noticed a bustling restaurant filled with well-dressed patrons, opposite from our lazy attire. Googling "ramen near me", Myles and Jun Yakitori was a top suggestion featuring pictures of decorative bowls of noodle soup. We started our night wanting to slurp some big bowls of ramen in our sweats. TLDR: the food was excellent and our waitress Kaylana was amazing!
